CUSTODIANS FULLTIME 2nd SHIFT
The Cincinnati Arts Association (CAA) is currently seeking a full-time, 2nd shift Custodian at our downtown Aronoff Center for the Arts location. As a part of the Custodial Department, this individual will play a vital role in keeping the Aronoff Center safe, clean, and welcoming. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to interact with patrons, guests, and staff while remaining professional, polite, and courteous when custodial services are needed. The Custodian will work under the supervision of the Custodial Services Manager and perform a variety of custodial duties.
Responsibilities
General responsibilities include, but are not limited to: cleaning and sanitization of offices, restrooms, theaters, lobbies, backstage, and operational spaces; restocking restrooms, supply closets, and back of house spaces with paper products and cleaning supplies; execute event set-ups, breakdowns, and other aspects of preparing the facility for use; collect building trash and place in approved containers and designated areas; vacuum, polish, sweep, mop, and dust floors and other surfaces throughout the facility; assist with limited grounds maintenance including snow/leaf removal, trash pick-up, planter watering, exterior window washing, and metal polishing.
Qualifications
• Education & Experience. 2+ years of custodial experience with a proven history of punctuality is required. Banquet set-up and experience reading floor diagrams a plus. High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Physical & Environmental Requirements. Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, move easily up and down stairs, and climb ladders. Ability to lift, slide, drag, carry, and otherwise manipulate objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to perform work duties outside in inclement weather. Must have good eyesight or corrected vision to ensure completeness of tasks and cleanliness of facilities. Must be able to tolerate exposure to noise levels standard in the live event industry.
• Communication Requirements. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions regarding use of equipment and hazardous materials. Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Approach to Work. The desired candidate must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as a part of a team. Being successful in this role requires paying attention to detail and taking pride in delivering excellent service.
• Working Schedule. Must be able to work a full-time schedule that primarily consists of second shift hours ranging from 12pm-12am. Must be able to reliably commute to the Aronoff Center for scheduled shifts.
