STATEMENT TO THE COMMUNITY

As a leader in the arts industry, both in the Cincinnati area and on a national stage, the Cincinnati Arts Association has a responsibility to enhance the important work we’ve done since our inception – removing barriers to the arts, creating artistic opportunities that represent a wide range of cultures and perspectives, and ensuring that a variety of voices and experiences are present on our stages and within our programming.

We believe that the arts can create a space where everyone feels a sense of belonging and where individuals are represented, recognized, and truly valued, and that success in the arts is defined by those who are welcomed in and how authentically their stories are told.

Principles of Practice
 

• Welcoming and Inclusive Culture – We actively foster a culture where all individuals feel a deep sense of belonging, respect, and inclusion throughout our organization.
• Intentional Engagement and Accountability – We continuously assess and refine our practices, programs, and processes to align with our mission and goals.
• Safe and Respectful Spaces – We strive to create an environment where all employees, artists, volunteers, guests, and patrons feel accepted, respected, and safe, regardless of identity or background.
• Access and Opportunity for All – We commit to removing barriers and fostering an environment where everyone can thrive professionally, artistically, and personally.
• Community Leadership and Advocacy – We lead by example, championing inclusive, community-centered practices within our organization and throughout the broader arts ecosystem.     

Values and Beliefs

• CAA values the arts as an educational tool. We believe in creating meaningful arts experiences that welcome broad participation, encourage creative expression, and ensure that all individuals and communities have an opportunity to engage with and learn through the arts.
