Event Details
We are thrilled to announce WindFest 2026 at Cincinnati Music Hall! This event features performances by the Cincinnati Wind Band, the Lakota East High School Symphonic Winds, and the Southeast Missouri State University Wind Symphony.
Lakota East High School Symphonic Winds:
Under the direction of Robert Tanis, will join this exciting collaborative concert by featuring the 2026 William R. Thomas Concerto Competition Winner flautist Katelyn Smith performing “Carmen Fantasie Brillante” by François Borne, “Sailing with Whales” by Rossano Galante, “Evergreen” by Viet Cuong, “El Camino Real” by Alfred Reed, and “Un Cafecito” by Dennis Llinás
Southeast Missouri State University Wind Symphony Program:
Conductor Jim Daughters will lead the Southeast Missouri State University Wind Symphony in performing “Rocky Point Holiday” by Ron Nelson, “My Lyre Within the Sky” by James David, and “La Chancla” by Dennis Linus.
Guest Soloist:
We are excited to feature Michael Chapa as the guest saxophone soloist.
Guest Conductor:
Lieutenant Colonel Jean-Claude Braun of the Luxembourg Military Band will lead the Cincinnati Wind Band, conducting pieces “El Olimpo de los Dioses” by Oscar Navarro and “Outburst” by Georges Sadeler.
Jean-Claude Braun serves as the Principal Conductor of the Luxembourg Military Band, the official state band of the country of Luxembourg. A distinguished musician and educator, Braun comes from a deeply musical family and is an accomplished horn player. Under his leadership, the Luxembourg Military Band has expanded its international profile and repertoire, performing at prestigious events around the world. At WindFest 2026, he will be our honored guest conductor for the Cincinnati Wind Band, bringing his artistry and experience to our stage.

If your performance is postponed or rescheduled, we will automatically move your tickets to the new performance date(s). If you are unable to attend the new dates, we will work with you to find a solution, which may include, without limitation, an exchange into an alternate performance or a credit for a future performance
