ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE
An Interactive Concert Experience for Students of All Ages with 6th Grade Social Studies Benchmarks
Learning Through Art, Inc. presents Sounds From The River, a spectacular musical and storytelling journey that traces the roots of American music and migration along the Ohio River. Aligned with 6th grade social studies benchmarks, this program explores geography, history, and culture through performance, narration, and engaging visuals.
Students will:
- Travel from Africa and Europe, to the Americas
- Learn how music moved with people through spirituals, gospel, jazz, zydeco, country, blues to bluegrass and more
- Engage with content through the free Books Alive! For Kids® online learning platform
- Prepare using a FREE Book Pack with vocabulary, reading, and creative classroom activities
This one-of-a-kind experience is part of the America’s River Roots Festival and supports our commitment to arts-integrated education.
Let the river's rhythm guide your students through the soundtrack of history!
