Hailed as a "major force" in Chicago dance, and described as richly dramatic, riveting, and culturally resonant, Deeply Rooted's large company commands the stage. The historied company blends classical, modern, American, and African American traditions to share thrilling, thoughtful stories. A rare chance to see one of the country’s rising dance companies, Deeply Rooted Dance Theater opens Mutual Dance Theater's Embrace: A Season of Connection.
Yue Yin Dance Company of New York (February 20-21, 2026) — CINCINNATI PREMIERE Yue Yin Dance Company is a groundbreaking and mesmerizing sensation capturing the attention of over 80,000 fans across the globe. Described as "gasp-provoking," "modern dance of the highest quality," and "goosebump-inducing," Yue Yin Dance Company's signature vocabulary combines ballet, contemporary, and Chinese influences like you've never seen. Modern Mix '26 (May 1-2, 2026) — WORLD PREMIERES This tour de force is Cincinnati's best-kept secret. Mutual Dance Theatre's Modern Mix '26 is a curated spectrum of connection and contrast, featuring four new dance works from guest choreographers with international credits, including: Joshua Ishmon (Chicago): voted "Best Choreographer" by Chicago Reader, listed as "Breakout Contemporary Dance Artist" by Newcity; Shane Ohmer (Philadelphia): an unbelievable career including Phantom of the Opera, Rock the Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Les Grands Ballet Canadiens de Montreal, River North, and Whim W'Him, among others; and Nat Wilson (New York): formerly of Kibbutz Contemporary Dance, ZviDance, ate9, Cocodaco Dance Project, Visceral Dance, Volta Collective, and Ballet Austin, now with Yue Yin Dance Company.
