An “all-Amadeus” program showcasing the composer’s signature bright and playful sound, from the operatic drama of his early years to his monumental final symphony.
Widely regarded as a preeminent conductor of Mozart’s music, Dame Jane Glover returns for an “all-Amadeus” program, showcasing the composer’s signature bright and playful sound. The Overture to Lucio Silla, which Mozart wrote when he was just 16, opens with all the youthful flair and operatic drama of Mozart’s early years. Then, CSO Concertmaster Stefani Matsuo and Principal Viola Christian Colberg transport listeners to a Viennese ball with Mozart’s dance-like Sinfonia Concertante, all before the program culminates with his monumental final symphony, Jupiter.
