Event Details
Each of these three composers, though it may not be evident at first, made significant contributions to diverse forms of musical entertainment. Eunike Tanzil’s delicate, pure and intimate work, Remembering, makes its much-anticipated Cincinnati premiere. Continuing in the same spirit of beautiful, cinematic music, Korngold’s Violin Concerto — performed by superstar Ray Chen — brings to life the Golden Age of the silver screen. Shostakovich’s Tenth Symphony, a deeply personal work, reveals his conflict with the Stalin regime and with the most human of expressions: love. This truly autobiographical narrative portrays a steadfast rebel who criticizes while practicing quiet disobedience.
