Regional arts and climate groups join filmmaker Lydia Dean Pilcher to share their work in implementing solutions to the climate crisis. This evening of conversation will explore questions raised in Homing Instinct: Letting Go of the Shore, including how to find allies, build community, and practice creative resilience in the face of uncertainty.
LYDIA DEAN PILCHER is a two-time Emmy-winning and Oscar-nominated filmmaker, climate leader, and educator. Her production company, Cine Mosaic, works in the international landscape of cinema and multicultural storytelling. She has produced over 40 award-winning feature films and series working with auteur directors including a multi-decade relationship with filmmaker Mira Nair. Pilcher directed the WWII female spy thriller, A Call to Spy, and the climate narratives Radium Girls and Homing Instinct. As a cultural strategist working in narrative, she is involved in leading efforts with studios, unions and guilds, to promote climate storytelling on screens, and the transition to clean energy in production.
