The Cincinnati Arts Association and the Weston Art Gallery in the Aronoff Center for the Arts present Mortal Vessels, cast and constructed sculptures by Linda Einfalt that reference both the frailty of our existence and strength of the human spirit.
Linda Einfalt is an associate professor of sculpture in the School of Art at the University of Cincinnati. Her bronze and mixed-media sculptures have previously juxtaposed cast body parts and compartmentalized internal organs to reference both the strength and frailty of the human body. Mortal Vessels continues this exploration utilizing the vessel as a metaphor for the human body, fragile container of life. Einfalt elevates the vessel to a sacred, revered object that becomes a carrier and sustainer of life that celebrates the human spirit and our ability to endure.
