Donations, Planned Giving & Endowments

Supporting the Cincinnati Arts Association (CAA) allows donors like you to play key roles in sustaining and expanding the future of the arts in our community. By making a commitment through one of the following opportunities, you are joining arts advocates from all over the region who are passionate about the creative expression, cultural engagement, and educational programs that are essential parts of our society.

Giving to CAA can come in any form and is customizable to your income level, giving experience, and areas of interest. Browse some traditional choices below, or contact the Development Department at (513) 977-4135, and we will work together to find the best giving option for you!

The easiest and most flexible giving option, gifts of cash can be made at any time and at any level. If you’re thinking about making a gift over $250, CAA’s Development team can work with you to set up a pledge payment plan to make your donation in several installments, if desired. Outright cash gifts can be made with cash, check (made out to Cincinnati Arts Association), or credit card (Visa, Master Card, Discover, and American Express). As with many of our giving options, outright cash gifts are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law – check with your tax professional about your individual circumstances.

A gift made in the name of someone else can be a touching tribute to a friend or family member, or a unique way to recognize significant events such as birthdays and anniversaries. Like outright gifts of cash, honorary or memorial gifts can be made at any time and at any level, with cash, check, or credit card (Visa, Master Card, Discover, and American Express).  Contact the development department for more information.

Many companies offer matching gift programs. These programs allow you to make a larger total contribution than you may be able to make on your own. Check with your employer for eligibility and more specific instructions.

Owners of assets such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, or other appreciated properties may want to consider transferring a gift to the Cincinnati Arts Association as a way to make a donation while receiving two different types of benefits. Donors of qualified assets may avoid paying capital gains on the increased value of the stock, while also receiving a tax deduction for the average value of the transferred assets the day the gift is made.

Gifts of appreciated securities can be handled by wire transfer, mail, or hand delivery, but the easiest way is to electronically transfer shares into CAA’s account. In addition to being convenient for both you and CAA, the speed and efficiency of electronic transfer allows you to maximize your gift. If you are interested in making a gift of stock or another type of appreciated property, contact the development department at (513) 977-4135.
