For the first time in Cincinnati Opera’s 100-year history, we present Dvořák’s beautiful and tragic fairy tale based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid. Our “otherworldly” production (Bachtrack) brings Dvořák’s luxurious score to life, including the heartbreaking “Song to the Moon.” British-Swiss soprano Kim-Lillian Strebel sings the title role of the love-struck water nymph following her “enchanting” (CityBeat) U.S. premiere as Pamina in our 2017 Magic Flute.
