This recital is the second outing of the violinist and violist Gi Yeon Koh and pianist Eric Zuber. They will perform two works for violin and piano, Mozart’s Sonata for Violin in E Minor and Respighi’s Sonata for Violin in B Minor; and on the viola, Rachmaninoff’s Sonata in G Minor, transcribed from the cello by Vadim Borisovsky. This concert offers the unusual opportunity to listen to a single performer play major works for both violin and viola, allowing the audience to more deeply appreciate the distinct sounds of both instruments.
A regular recipient of top prizes in competitions and frequent soloist with orchestral ensembles, violinist and violist Ms. Gi Yeon Koh is currently the first candidate for a D.M.A. at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) as a double major. During a period of just a few years, pianist Dr. Eric Zuber was a recipient of major prizes from ten of the world's most prestigious international piano competitions. He has received degrees from Peabody Conservatory, the Juilliard School, and the Curtis Institute. Ms. Koh and Dr. Zuber made their Carnegie Hall debut as a duo in December 2017.
