Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Pam and Spencer, of Wild Carrot, are TEACHING ARTISTS specializing in ARTS INTEGRATION - weaving together arts activities and COMMON CORE CURRICULUM from Language Arts and Social Studies to Math and Science.
Our Roots are Showing! -- Interactive Performance
Curriculum: Music, Social Studies
This interactive performance features a wide variety of American Roots music, spanning the last century, from jazz and folk songs to show tunes and original material. Wild Carrot demonstrates and discusses the history and geography of the music, and the people who brought it to this country, including such instruments as guitar, mandolin, concertina, lap dulcimer, penny whistle and banjo. This performance can connect to various curriculum areas.
