Get ready to mambo as Brian Malone, Bacchanal Steel Band founder, goes solo with his steel drum. From calypso to classical, Malone explores the history of the steel drum and the intricacies of its construction. He even provides the percussion for an interactive finale!

Recommended Ages: Grades K-Adult
Maximum Audience: No limit
Length: 45-50 minutes
Cost: $150 first session/$75 each additional


Technical Needs

  • Artist Arrival: 30 Minutes prior to performance.
  • Organization representative should meet the artist and show him to the presentation area.
  • The artist would like an organization representative to introduce him.
  • Audience participation: Yes. Mr. Malone will provide instruments (appx. 20 pieces) for the students to play along. Participant pre-selection is optional.
  • There is a Question and Answer session following the presentation. It lasts approximately 5 minutes.
  • Equipment needed by artists:
    • Electrical outlets
    • 1 hand held microphone
    • VCR (optional)
  • A large gathering space for this presentation is recommended. Minimum amount of space needed for presentation: 15’ x 15’
  • Please provide water for the artist.
