A veteran of local stage productions and a Certified Teacher with the Society of American Fight Directors, Gina Cerimele-Mechley stresses safety and fun in an art that requires discipline, respect and trust. Stage Combat and More! combines history, acting, or English class curricula with interactive lessons in stage weapon history and safety.

Recommended Ages: Grades 6-12
Maximum Audience: 30
Length: 45 minutes
Cost: $225 first session/$55 each additional; combine with Shakespeare through the Eyes of An Actor (one session of each, same day/location) for $300

Technical Needs

  • Artist Arrival: 30 minutes prior to presentation.
  • Organization representative should meet the artist and show her to the presentation area.
  • The artist would like an organization representative to introduce her.
  • Two students to assist with unloading equipment.
  • Equipment needed by artist: mats, if available
  • Audience participation: this is a participatory workshop
  • Large gathering space is suitable for this presentation. Minimum amount of space needed for presentation: 4 sq. yards per person. Room should have high ceiling and any flooring other than concrete.
  • Please have drinking water provided for the artist.
