Dancing for the Stars: A Benefit for The Overture Awards
- WHEN: Saturday, May 10, 2008
- 6:00 PM – VIP Reception for Hosts, Hostesses, Corporate Tables & Patron Level donors.
- 7:00 PM – Dancing, Appetizers, Cash Bar
- 8:00 PM – Celebrity Dance Competition
- 9:00 PM – Dance the Night Away
- WHERE: Music Hall Ballroom
- TICKETS: $50-Friend • $100-Patron (contribution entitles patron to VIP Reception and two complimentary drinks • $1000-Corporate Table (10 Patron Tickets). Tickets will be available at the Music Hall Ballroom beginning at 6:00pm on Saturday, May 10.
- INFO: Inspired by the hit ABC-TV show Dancing with the Stars, Dancing for the Stars will feature eight Cincinnati celebrities paired with some of the area’s finest professional dancers in a competition program, at which the audience will vote for their favorite celebrity dancer. The contestants will dance in Swing style to one of ballroom dancing's most exceptional DJs, Tony Rimkus.
- THE STARS: Michael Beck, President of Midwest Latino; Roxanne Qualls, City Council Member; Simon Leis, Hamilton County Sheriff; Lincoln Ware, WDBZ "The Buzz" Talk Show Personality; Pam Myers, Tony Award-nominated Actress; Jennell Walton, WCPO-TV9 Anchor/Report.

What is THE OVERTURE AWARDS ?
Key into Art: Shine a Light on Brighton!
- WHEN: Sunday, April 27, 2008
- 2 - 5pm -- Walk from studio to studio in the tiny streets of Brighton and visit Semantics Gallery, the cavernous environs of the Mockbee, and have the chance to meet the artists and ask about their work
- 5 - 7pm -- Return to the Weston Art Gallery to enjoy live music by P. Ann Everson-Price, with food and drink provided by Vonderhaar's Catering.
- WHERE: The Weston Art Gallery and Brighton. Shuttle service will be available from the Weston Art Gallery.
- INFO: Take a walk on the wild side with our 3rd annual studio tour, art walk, and gallery party! Let the Weston Art Gallery guide you to the fringe scene of Brighton, where a subset of Cincinnati's artists, architects, dancers and designers stage the scene.
- PARTICIPATING ARTISTS/STUDIOS: include Jay Bolotin, Jim Wainscott, Thin Air Studio (Chris Daniels, Richard Fruth and Kirk Mayhew), Eric Puryear (architect), Carissa Barnard, and Fred Ellenberger.
