Indian Culture Comes to You:
Music of India

Indian music is intertwined in every occasion of Indian life and culture. While the science of the music stresses conformity, discipline, and acoustic accuracy, the beauty of Indian classical music is found in its freedom to improvise. During the presentation, students will listen to recorded music.

Recommended Ages: Grades K-12
Maximum Audience: No limit
Length: 30-60 minutes
Cost: $300 first session/$150 each additional
Limit No. Sessions: 4


Technical Needs

  • Artist Arrival: 60 minutes prior to start time
  • Organization representative should meet the artist and show her to the presentation area.
  • Audience participation: audience is expected to participate, school can pre-select participants.
  • There is a brief Question and Answer session following the presentation, as long as needed.
  • Equipment needed by artist:
    • electrical outlet
    • microphones (clip-on preferred)
    • TV/VCR
    • Audio cassette player
    • CD player
  • Classroom or large gathering space is suitable for this presentation.
  • Please have drinking water provided for the artist.
