Mountain Christmas

Hum, sing, clap, and join in as the artists celebrate the twelve days between New Christmas (December 25) and Old Christmas (January 6). Seasonal tall tales, unfamiliar mountain carols, and old-time tunes on fiddle, banjo, and lap dulcimer bring to life the disappearing regional customs and folklore of Eastern Kentucky families at Christmas. Dancing limberjack dolls, talking animals, a mummer’s play—everyone is part of the merriment. Surprise ending: a “live” Christmas tree decorated with traditional handmade ornaments.
