Folktales and Shadow Theater

Throw out everything you know about shadow puppets! This interactive performance workshop is designed to inspire imaginations by blowing open the boundaries of traditional Shadow Theater with fun and inventive techniques that are easy and inexpensive. Various light sources will be used to create different spatial effects. Students will participate in small acting vignettes. Who knew that shadows could be so 3-D! This program also functions as a segue into follow-up workshops in which students create shadow puppets to tell important elements of folktales read in the classroom.

Availability: Sessions must end by 3 PM
