Fiddles & Flatboats:
Music & Stories along the Ohio

For more than 200 years, the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers were wilderness thoroughfares that carried the songs and stories of the many cultures that traveled their lengths. The fiddle and banjo not only provided entertainment to hardworking river residents, but also gave rhythmic cadence to pace the crews’ work. Audiences will hear old fiddle tunes and stories with historic river themes.
