Rajiv Satyal in No Man's Land
A standup comedian sets out to define manhood in modern society, based on his own comedic – and tragic – adventures with women.
Rajiv Satyal was born and raised in Cincinnati, where he regularly performed at the Funny Bone and Go Bananas. In 2006, he moved to Los Angeles. He now performs weekly at the Hollywood Laugh Factory; has toured with Dave Chappelle, Russell Peters, and Tim Allen; and has appeared on NBC, Nickelodeon, and FX. And now, he's bringing his one-person show to the Aronoff Center.
No Man's Land is about dating and relationships, and the show is great for singles to mingle – both at the intimate Jarson-Kaplan Theater and at the soon-to-be-announced after-party. Of course, it's also a fun show for couples who want to take a trip down memory lane to remember their single days.
No Man's Land has been selling out around the country, including stops in LA, New York, and San Francisco.
WHAT THE CRITICS ARE SAYIING:
"Rajiv Satyal delivers a standup performance full of laughs, intellect, passion, raw candor, and emotional swell. Personally, I wouldn’t mind seeing this show becoming a regular TV show. It has all the makings of a great story: inner conflict, comedy, culture, love, and of course, self deprecation." – ATOD Magazine
"It proved to be a strong contender for a Best Comic Solo Show Award from whoever gives those things out." – StageHappenings.com
"Despite a protagonist who asserts his ethnic credentials, it is not stuffed full of stereotypical jokes about his background." – India in New York
