2008-09 SEASON ANNOUNCEMENT
Where the STARS Come Out at Night!
CINCINNATI, OH – The Cincinnati Arts Association is pleased to announce its 2008-09 Season – a diverse selection of entertainment options offering star-quality entertainment to brighten the nights of Tri-state audiences. These intriguing additions to another vibrant Cincinnati arts season are certain to continue CAA’s long-standing mission of presenting an eclectic mix of alternative entertainment choices to Cincinnati theater-goers. The dynamic new season offers something for everyone, showcasing music, theater, and comedy events for audiences of all ages.
The 2008-09 Season begins in October with three exciting shows: the return of everyone’s favorite “sister” in the gloriously funny play Late Nite Catechism; two of the world’s most beloved contemporary Christian music artists, Michel W. Smith & Steven Curtis Chapman, appearingon stage together for the first time in The United Tour; and the winner and finalists of NBC-TV’s popular laugh-fest reality-show in the Last Comic Standing Live Tour.
The Season continues in February with An Evening of Classic Lily Tomlin, featuring more than a dozen unforgettable characters from one of America’s favorite comic actresses; and direct from New York City, the acclaimed musical review of Broadway’s greatest hits, Neil Berg’s 100 Years of Broadway. In March, the AronoffCenter will explode with the sounds of DrumLine Live!, a show-stopping new production that brings the black marching band tradition to the theatrical stage; and the powerhouse 14-piece Afro-Cuban All Stars, led by the legendary Juan de Marcos González of the Buena Vista Social Club.
In May, the Season concludes with the return of Oscar-nominee and multiple Emmy® award-winner Hal Holbrook in his hilarious Tony® Award-winning one-man play,Mark Twain Tonight!
Additional events will be added throughout the season as they become available.

Now in its 14th year, Late Nite Catechism has brought its nostalgic kick to every state in the U.S., as well as to Canada, the U.K., and Australia. This uproariously funny play takes audience members back to their youth, as the irrepressible "Sister" teaches class to a roomful of "students" (the audience). Throughout the course of the class the benevolent instructor rewards the "students" for correct answers with glow-in-the-dark rosaries and other nifty prizes. Naughty students may well find themselves on stage sitting in a corner reflecting on their actions. However, even the most reluctant "students" will be clamoring to get into this Sister's "class."
