ArtNet

BDAAC Renews ArtNet

ArtNet returned to the Weston Art Gallery in the Aronoff Center on Friday, October 30, 2009 with a positive review from participants. ArtNet was designed to provide networking opportunities for minority visual artists similar to Business-After-Hours programs which focus on managers and entrepreneurs.

The reception featured 14 information tables from local art clubs, art related businesses, community art organizations, and art schools. The goal was to expose visual artists to resources in the community that they might not be aware of. Artists enjoyed the opportunity to meet one another, establish relationships and talk with a variety of organizations. Many artists commented that they found the evening helpful, informative and just plain enjoyable! Previous programs have resulted in artistic collaborations and in one case the publication of a book.

This was the third ArtNet program and after a one year hiatus BDAAC now plans on making it an annual event. Long term BDAAC may expand ArtNet and focus on all art forms.
