Indian Culture Comes to You:
Art of India

Spanning a period of more than five thousand years, the artistic tradition of India is rich in its content and diversity. In this interactive workshop, Padma Chebrolu of the Cultural Centre of India will introduce the art and culture of India, present pictures of artwork, introduce various artists, discuss the history of the art from ancient to modern times, and teach participants to create age appropriate designs and motifs.
Recommended Ages: Grades 4-Adult
Maximum Audience: flexible
Length: 30-60 minutes
Cost: $300 first session/$150 each additional
Limit No. Sessions: 4


Technical Needs

  • Artist Arrival: 60 minutes prior to start time
  • Organization representative should meet the artist and show her to the presentation area.
  • The artist would like an organization representative to introduce her.
  • Audience participation: yes, hands-on workshop
  • There will be a brief Question and Answer session following the presentation (included in running time).
  • Equipment needed by artist:
    • electrical outlet
    • easel
    • computer with Power Point and an overhead projector
  • Classroom or large gathering space is suitable for this presentation.
  • Please have drinking water provided for the artist.
