ARONOFF CENTER CAST
*Cast is subject to change based upon possible Broadway and touring developments.
Along with musical director and pianist Neil Berg, the Aronoff Center production will feature Ron Bohmer (The Phantom of the Opera, The Scarlet Pimpernel), Carter Calvert (It Ain’t Nothin’ But the Blues), Sandra Joseph  (Christine, The Phantom of the Opera), Chuck Wagner (Jekyll & Hyde, Les Misèrables),  and Danny Zolli (Jesus, Jesus Christ Superstar).

The Aronoff Center cast includes two Cincinnati connections – Ron Bohmer and Carter Calvert both grew up in Cincinnati (Ron was born here; Carter moved here at the age of nine), and both are proud alums of the School for Creative and Performing Arts, where they majored in musical theater. Ron and Carter have performed on Cincinnati stages (including the Aronoff Center and the Playhouse in the Park) numerous times.

NEIL BERG is the composer/lyricist of the hit off-Broadway musical The Prince and the Pauper, which ran for two years at the Lamb’s Theater in New York City. The New York Times described it as “...soaring on the wings of theatrical fun.” Neil is currently writing the music for the Broadway-bound musical Grumpy Old Men, based on the hit film. Two of his new musicals have been selected for the prestigious New York Musical Theater Festival: The Man Who Would Be King, a musical realization of Rudyard Kipling’s novella, and Tim and Scrooge, the sequel to A Christmas Carol.

RON BOHMER is a Cincinnati native and an alum of Cincinnati’s School for Creative and Performing Arts. He has starred on Broadway and national tour as The Phantom in The Phantom Of The Opera, Joe Gillis in Sunset Boulevard (Jefferson Award nomination), The Scarlet Pimpernel (National Broadway Theatre Award nomination), Alex in Aspects Of Love (LA Robby award), the evil Sir Percival Glyde in The Woman in White, Enjolras in Les Miserables, Fyedka in Fiddler on the Roof, and as Coach Bolton in the cultural phenomenon Disney’s High School Musical.  He most recently starred on Broadway as Father in the critically-acclaimed revival of Ragtime, a role he originated at the Kennedy Center.  Ron is married to actress/author Sandra Joseph.

CARTER CALVERT grew up in Cincinnati from the age of nine, and is a graduate of Cincinnati’s School for Creative and Performing Arts. New York credits include starring roles in the original Tony Award-nominated Broadway production and national tour of It Ain't Nothin' But the Blues (as well as the original Broadway cast album), the world premiere of Forbidden Vegas (in a role she originated), Forbidden Broadway, and The Thing About Men.  Carter toured Europe in Smokey Joe's Café, played Grizabella in the national tour of Cats, and appeared as the title role in Always, Patsy Cline.

SANDRA JOSEPH grew up in Detroit and attended Michigan State University before relocating to New York City to pursue a career on Broadway. She played the coveted role of Christine Daae in The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway and all across the country to critical acclaim. She has the distinct honor of being Phantom’s leading lady on Broadway longer than any other actress in the show’s twenty-two year history.  Sandra is currently writing a memoir entitled "Phantom Girl" about her journey from Detroit to Broadway, and the decade she spent in Broadway’s most successful show. Sandra is married to her former "Phantom" co-star, actor Ron Bohmer

CHUCK WAGNER performed on Broadway as Athos in The Three Musketeers, Rapunzel's Prince in the original Broadway cast of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods, Javert in Les Misèrables, Van Helsing in Dracula, and as The Beast in Disney's Beauty and the Beast (which he premiered at Toronto’s Princess of Wales Theatre). Chuck originated the title roles in Frank Wildhorn's Jekyll & Hyde and Svengali at Houston’s Alley Theatre and reprised his dual roles in Jekyll & Hyde in the post-Broadway international tour. He also toured as the Wolf and Cinderella’s Prince in the U.S. tour of Into The Woods and as the MacArthuresque General Harrison Howell in the revival of Cole Porter’s classic Kiss Me Kate. Chuck sang the role of Sir Percival Blakeney in the original concept recording of Wildhorn’s The Scarlet Pimpernel.

DANNY ZOLLI is best known for his monumental number of performances as Jesus, Judas, and Annas in more than 15 productions of Jesus Christ Superstar throughout the world.  His unique and stirring performance of the aria "Gethsemane" is debated among Jesus Christ Superstar fans as one of the best. Nationally and Internationally, Danny has starred as Che' in Evita, Joseph in Joseph…Dreamcoat, The Arbiter in Chess, Tobias in Sweeney Todd, Candide in Candide, amongst many, many others. He has starred as the principal male soloist in the orchestral concert extravaganza, "The British Rock Symphony," and most recently, has been tapped as the lead singer of "The World Rock Symphony Orchestra."
